History of El Paso County
El Paso County was founded in the month of March 1850 and was named San Elizario as the first county seat. It was established when the United States Senate fixed a line of demarcation that separated Texas as well as New Mexico at the thirty-second parallel, which was largely ignored the history of topography and geography.
Demography
In 2015. According to the Texas population estimation program, the total county’s population of 837,353 people: Hispanics, Latinos, (of all races) 698,534 (83.4 percent) Non-Hispanic whites with 97%,439 (11.6 percent) Blacks who are not non-Hispanic 21,137 (2.5 2.5 %) and other non-Hispanics 20243 (2.4 %);[12]
In in the year 2010 United States Census, there were 800,647 inhabitants living within the county. 82.1 percent were White predominantly Hispanic descent. 10.5 percent of all others, 3.1 percentage African American or Black, 2.5% of two or more races, 1.0% Asian, 0.8 0.8% Native American and 0.1% Pacific Islander. 82.2 percent of them were Latino (of all races).
