History of Guadalupe County

In March 1846, following the adoption to Texas in 1846 to United States, the legislature created the county of Guadalupe out of parts that were Bexar as well as Gonzales counties. Guadalupe County had an area of 862 square miles as of 1846. However, it was wiped out between 1858 and 1874 in 1858 and 1874, when Blanco as well as Wilson counties were incorporated.
